Dear Driver #steeraway

In a city at the mercy of its merciless drivers, a Drastic Awareness Campaign calls its pedestrians to take back the space that belongs to them. Share it on your social media and help us get the message across:
We need cities made for people, not cars!

“Dear Driver #steeraway” Campaign Trailer

Evolving during what was seemingly a city tour on the history of the automobile in Thessaloniki, a parallel tour was staged so as to juxtapose the driving behaviour of Greeks today, creating an intense awareness experience for 30 participants. All the participants that were selected were people who drive.

Our aim was to raise awareness to the participants, who didn’t previously know the true aim of the tour, on the consequences of cars invading and parking on the city’s pedestrian roads, sidewalks, crossings and ramps. The tour took place 3 times and was filmed by a professional crew, resulting in a 10-minute documentary.

As part of our new series of Drastic Awareness Campaigns, we developed a disruptive campaign on the problematic relationship between driving behaviour and freedom of movement in the city of Thessaloniki.

In partnership with initiatives and communities active in the fields of accessibility, civic engagement and road safety we created a campaign using new art and media formats such as online video, VR and immersive theater.

The overall outcome, documented through a series of videos, became the basis of a digital campaign for freedom of movement with the hashtags #deardriver #steeraway. Share it freely with everyone you know!
